Reba McEntire made a video appearance at the Nashville Concert for Love and Acceptance concert last week, telling Ty Herndon and all in attendance: "I’ve got your back.”

McEntire was the event’s biggest name, but well-known stars like Herndon, Jamie O’Neal, Billy Gilman and Crystal Gayle took the stage. Chely Wright also appeared via video message. Nashville actor Chris Carmack, Meghan Linsey and newcomer Levi Hummon sang at the event.

“Ty, I’m so proud of you and all of those in country music and beyond who are standing up today to say that we are all God’s children,” McEntire says after explaining she couldn’t make it due to rehearsals for her Las Vegas residency with Brooks & Dunn. “Just know that I’ve got your back.”

Both Herndon and Gilman came out on the same day, separately, last November. Herndon made his announcement on Entertainment Tonight, while Gilman took to YouTube. They’re the first two male country stars to come out as gay, following Wright, who came out in 2010.

McEntire has long been a supporter of the LGBT community, and her message of support is no surprise to fans. Earlier this year she told Pridesource she didn’t understand why people have a problem with gay marriage.

“I’ve always embraced gay and lesbian fans with both arms,” she says. “I have a huge gay following!”

McEntire unleashed her 20th studio album, Love Somebody, in April. A second single — following "Going Out Like That" — will be released soon.
