More Americans Planning Vacation Trips This Summer

A recent survey by Harris Interactive, on behalf of Choice Hotels, shows 18% of Americans are planning to take more vacation trips this summer than a year ago.  That's good news for the economy.The Harris survey involved 2,199 adults.  Of those surveyed, 87% said they plan to take more or about the same number of trips as last summer.

Eighty-four percent of those who take vacations plan to travel roadways racking up an average of 1,172 miles on their trip.
