This week's pet of the week is a special boy. Eleven years old, Hercules is an AKC registered lab that was abandoned at the shelter when an untreated blood cyst burst.

Knowing how risky it would be to leave him in a shelter environment with an open wound, PAWS immediately rescued him. He had surgery on Tuesday and he has a long recovery ahead. His prognosis is good, but Hercules needs your love and prayers.

It's been a traumatic experience for this old guy.  Losing his family, dealing with the pain of a burst cyst and surgery all in a week's time makes for a sad guy.  But they are starting to see that he's feeling a bit better and he loves meeting new people.

Please consider fostering or adopting this precious dog who deserves better.  If fostering or adopting is not an option and you'd like to help Hercules, PAWS needs help covering his medical expenditures. If you can help, please make a donation securely by following this link http://conchovalleypaws.org/donate-now/ or mail a check to Concho Valley PAWS at 4001 Sunset Drive, Suite 1072, San Angelo, TX 76904. In the memo write "Hercules".

Everyone can help by sharing this post and telling this boy's story.  Someone out there needs Hercules as much as he needs them.  Crossposting saves lives.
