Old Dominion have canceled two upcoming concerts after suffering the loss of someone very close to the band.

The group shared the news of their loss via Facebook on Monday morning (March 6), but provided few details, posting the following:

Dear fans and friends,
We have sad news to share. We've suffered a great loss in the Old Dominion family. One of our immediate family members has unexpectedly passed. We thank you in advance for your prayers and your patience as we sort out the coming days. More details will be shared soon.

The group have canceled their upcoming appearance at the Houston Rodeo, which was scheduled for Wednesday (March 8) , as well as a concert in Midland, Texas, that was supposed to take place on Thursday (March 9). They also canceled a party to celebrate their No. 1 hit, "Song for Another Time," in Nashville on Monday afternoon. A representative for the group declined to elaborate in an email to the Boot, but confirmed the cancellations.

Country Stars Who Have Suffered Tragedy

“Our hearts go out to the members of Old Dominion,” says  Houston Rodeo President and CEOJoel Cowley in a statement. “They have lost an immediate family member of the band and respectfully cancelled their appearance to allow time to mourn. We understand and support their decision.”

Houston Rodeo organizers are working to book another artist to replace Old Dominion on Wednesday night. Previously purchased tickets will be refunded upon request. More information is available via the Houston Rodeo website.

The group's tragedy comes during a time when they have otherwise had much to celebrate. Old Dominion had a party in Nashville on Feb. 27 to celebrate their debut album, Meat and Candy, being certified Gold after selling 500,000 units. They've also scored a two-week No. 1 hit with their debut single “Break Up With Him,” had Sony Nashville’s most streamed song of 2016 with “Snapback” and hit No. 1 again with “Song for Another Time.” The group debuted a new song titled "There's No Such Thing as a Broken Heart" at their Gold album party, which is the forthcoming single off a sophomore project that is to be announced.
