Lady Antebellum, Billy Currington, Hunter Hayes + More Close 2013 Taste of Country Festival – Day 3 Pictures
Lady Antebellum played their last show of the summer at the 2013 Taste of Country Music Festival on Saturday night (June 15). With Hillary Scott set to go on maternity leave, the trio held nothing back during a high-energy 90-minute set. Check out pictures from Lady A and all ToC Fest performers below.
Dustin Lynch opened the show with an hour-long set that included his three hit singles and songs from his debut album. The solo artist was followed by Gloriana, who mixed up their set with covers by Joe Walsh ('Rocky Mountain Way') and the Lumineers. Before their set began, the entire lawn was covered with country-loving festival fans grateful for a full day of sunshine.
Joe Nichols provided a change of pace with a set of his hits and surprising covers. The 'Sunny and 75' singer is know for having a traditional bend to his music, but that didn't stop him from renditions of Tom Petty and Sir Mix-a-Lot. Yep, Nichols turned 'Baby Got Back' into a genuine country song -- and the ToC Fest fans soaked it up.
Next was Hunter Hayes, who provided one of the loudest moments of the festival, as fans were screaming along with 'Wanted,' his award-winning No. 1 hit. Hayes jumped around the stage like he'd had six cups of coffee, singing 'Storm Warning,' 'I Want Crazy' and 'Somebody's Heartbreak.' There's no doubt he was a favorite for many who attended the three-day festival.
Billy Currington reminded fans just how many hit songs he has -- a lot! His set was a virtual greatest hits album, and the crowd responded by singing along to each one. The Georgia singer covered songs by Michael Jackson and Hank Williams, Jr.
Finally, it was time for the festival's closing headliner, pop-country phenomenon Lady Antebellum. As most pregnant women do, Scott glowed. At eight months pregnant, she showed no sign of slowing down (which is great since she'll soon have baby Antebellum to keep up with). The trio delivered a flawless set, which included, of course, their Grammy-winning hit 'Need You Now,' which the 2013 Taste of Country Music Festival crowd soaked up like Day 3's much-welcomed sunshine.
