The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will host it’s 10th annual Family Day Eco Fair on Saturday October 8th at the Art Museum located at One Love Street.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

West Texans have long recognized the need to conserve our resources; we are a people who live close to our environment—Eco Fair is a celebration of our local environment and economy. During Eco Fair visitors can learn about SAMFA’s water education program, Aqua Squad, see recycled artwork created by Santa Rita Elementary 5th graders, and explore other environmentally conscious groups in San Angelo. The Nature Center will be here exhibiting animals and the ASU Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society will also be here doing an activity.

Eco Fair is also a chance to explore one of San Angelo’s most valuable resources: the Concho River. Join students from Ft. Concho Elementary to help clean up litter along the Concho River from 10 am to 2pm.

Enjoy a healthy snack with the Provisional Class of the Junior League of San Angelo. JLSA will be onsite to creatively educate children about healthy eating through their Kids in the Kitchen program which was established by the Association of Junior Leagues International to help combat childhood obesity.  JLSA volunteers will be helping attendees assemble a themed snack that can easily be made at home with the recipe and activity sheet that will also be distributed at the event.
