Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Adoption Center Opens in Her Hometown
The MuttNation Station adoption center in my hometown is officially OPEN! A lot of people worked hard to make this happen and we're so thankful for their support of our mission to help dogs find loving homes! And a special thanks to @greatergoodorg for celebrating your 10th anniversary with @MuttNationFoundation and to #CertifiedRoses, @rescue.rebuild, @tjcapaches and #CityOfLindale.
Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation rescue organization teamed up with Rescue Rebuild for the new adoption center. According to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, the city of Lindale provided two acres of land in Darden Harvest Park for the adoption center, which is a restored 1907 home donated by the Cannery Lindale, as well as a dog park.
Rescue Rebuild works to rebuild, repair and renovate animal shelters, and they partnered with MuttNation to provide funding for renovations on the building. The new MuttNation Station adoption center features updated amenities, a meet-and-greet area for potential adopters and more. The Tyler Junior College veterinary technician program will oversee the operation of the center.
These Country Singers Sure Love Their Dogs!
Lambert’s mother, Bev Lambert, helped the singer found MuttNation Foundation, and she was on hand at the ribbon-cutting ceremony in Lindale on Wednesday (Oct. 25).
“This is exactly what I had envisioned, but probably on steroids,” she tells the Telegraph. “I believe when we host adoption drives in here people will feel like they’re in their own house.”
Miranda Lambert turned to Instagram to share a picture from the ceremony and thank the partners and residents who volunteered.
“A lot of people worked hard to make this happen and we’re so thankful for their support of our mission to help dogs find loving homes!” she writes.
The new adoption center will be officially set to start having adoption events in two weeks. The project is set to begin a second phase in March that will include adding water activities to the dog park.
