Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood are giving the 2014 Billboard Music Awards a double dose of country on Sunday (May 18), and one of them has a case of the jitterbugs. Surprisingly, it's the sassy and fierce 'Mama's Broken Heart' hitmaker.

“I’m gonna be really nervous to sing with Carrie. It will be the first time we sing it live together. That’s the fun part, though,” she tells reporters (quote via Country Weekly).

They will be performing 'Something Bad,' off of Lambert's upcoming album 'Platinum,' and Lambert admits that she's intimidated by Underwood's vocal skills. The performance will keep her on her toes.

“That’s kind of why you want to do it in the first place, is to sing it live. I mean, it’s fun to sing it in the studio and all that stuff with her, but definitely singing with someone as powerful as she is pushes you as a vocalist.”

One thing's for sure: there will be lots of girl power onstage at the awards, and Lambert is definitely looking forward to letting the audience experience it. “I’m nervous, but I’m excited, and I’m excited for people to see two female country artists up there onstage together,” she says.

Adds the singer, “That doesn’t happen that often, or not often enough, in my opinion. So, we’re just gonna go rock it.”

The lack of female stars within country music has been on the minds of many over the past years. Underwood has admitted that it's tough for women in country, and Luke Bryan has been vocal about it tool.

The 'Something Bad' performance is a step in the right direction, and hopefully the beginning of many female country collaborations.

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards air live on May 18 on ABC at 8:00 PM ET, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
