22nd Annual Big Wheels Deliver Meals Day.  Wednesday morning, Dewey Weaver our KGKL General Manager and myself, had a great experience by participating in this years program.

We arrived at Meals For The Elderly's office at  10:00 a.m. where leaders, celebrities and media folks  from all over San Angelo were gathered to help their extraordinary volunteers with delivery of meals that day.

We were paired up with two great ladies, Janie Cooper and Billie Riley.  They are sisters who have been volunteering every Wednesday for the last 5 years.

After loading the hot and nutritious meals into their car, we took off on their regular route.  In all we made 11 stops and delivered 12 meals to community members who might otherwise go hungry.

The purpose of the Big Wheels event was to increase awareness of the fine work that Meals For The Elderly does not only here in San Angelo but also Tom Green County.  It also gives all the  local leaders, celebrities and us media types  a chance to give back to the community.

Dewey and I, felt blessed to be included in this event.

Thank you Meals For The Elderly, for inviting us to take part and keep up the good work.

And a special thanks to Janie and Billie.
