Martina McBride's 'Everlasting' has a new release date, and it means fans will need to wait a little bit longer for the record.

The songstress put the news on Facebook on Wednesday (Jan. 22), citing "great performing opportunities and other media requests" that were just too good to pass up, but will unfortunately tie up a lot of her time that was devoted to finishing up the album.

April 8, 2014 is the new 'Everlasting' shelf date, and although that is a little over a month added to the record's original release date of March 4, McBride is treating her fans to some new songs.

"The good news is we will be releasing more tracks in the next couple of months...one is coming very soon ... so you will get a really great sneak peak of the album before the release date," she says.

'Everlasting' is a cover album with tracks ranging from Elvis to Van Morrison and Aretha Franklin. 'Do Right Woman, Do Right Man,' 'If You Don't Know Me By Now' and 'Bring It Home to Me' are just a few of the songs that will be featured on the highly anticipated project.

Although it's disappointing that the album has been pushed back, it's good that McBride wants to give her release a little more TLC, ensuring that the fans will hold something she's truly proud of in their hands.
