This is the much anticipated maker space that has been funded by a $75,000 grant from the Texas State Library and Archive Commission and Institute of Museum Library Services.

The event will be of interest to area teachers and anyone who would like to pursue creating in the areas of textile arts and crafts; electronics and robotics; items using a laser cutter or 3D printer; media production; or using general hand tools.

The grand opening will provide tours, demonstrations, make and take items, class sign-ups, meeting instructors, refreshments and issuance of new or replacement library cards.  Teachers will want to see the educational kits that are available for check-out for use in their classrooms and may sign up for a drawing to win an in-class presentation.
