Leon Russell has postponed a series of upcoming shows after suffering a heart attack recently.

According to Tulsa World, Russell is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery following his recent heart attack, but the 74-year-old is undergoing tests and will have surgery soon in Nashville. A note on Russell's website explains that he'll need to recuperate for several weeks and, therefore, is postponing a number of his upcoming concerts.

A complete list of Russell's postponed shows is below. Make-up dates will be announced at a later time.

A native of Lawton, Okla., Russell got his start playing in clubs in Tulsa at the age of 14. He moved to Los Angeles and, in the 1960s, worked as a session musician with artists such as the Beach BoysBob Dylan and the Rolling Stones. As an artist, Russell has released more than 30 studio albums, including One for the Road with Willie Nelson in 1979, two projects with New Grass Revival and a 2002 record, Moonlight & Love Songs, with the Nashville Symphony. In 1979, Russell and Nelson scored a No. 1 country hit with their rendition of "Heartbreak Hotel."
