Kris Kristofferson's The Life & Songs of Kris Kristofferson tribute concert, which took place on Wednesday (March 16) in Nashville, was full of top-notch performances, including one from Reba McEntire, who honored Kristofferson with a high-energy rendition of "Me and Bobby McGee."

McEntire commanded the stage throughout the majority of the Kristofferson-penned tune, but toward the end, she beckoned to the iconic star, who was seated sidestage, and he joined her for a round of the song's rousing chorus. Press play on the video above to watch the performance.

"Me and Bobby McGee" was recorded by Janis Joplin in 1970, shortly before she passed away; it became her only No. 1 hit. Roger Miller, Kenny Rogers and others, including Kristofferson, also recorded the song.

The evening of Kristofferson songs was a three-hour-long hit. Hank Williams Jr.Jennifer NettlesLee Ann Womack, Lady AntebellumDierks BentleyRyan BinghamRosanne Cash, Eric Church, Emmylou Harris, Jamey Johnson, Willie Nelson, Darius Rucker and more all graced the stage throughout the event. Church, especially, brought a whole lot of emotion to the stage and gave one of the show's most touching performances: He explained how Kristofferson's "To Beat the Devil" saved his career, then sang the song.

The Life & Songs of Kris Kristofferson was filmed for multi-platform distribution, with details to be announced.
