The San Angelo Downtown Kiwanis Club is proud to host the 72nd annual Little Olympics this Friday, May 3rd

More than 1,500 students in 4th, 5th, & 6th grade will represent 33 area elementary schools by competing in six different field and running events.  The top five competitors of each event will be awarded medals.  The opening ceremony will begin at 3:45 p.m. with a flag ceremony, and the parade of schools.

Students have been training for several months with the help of their school physical education teachers.  Each school enters their best athletes to compete in long jump, flexed arm hang, bar chin, the 60 and 75 yard dashes, and 300 yard relay. More than 150 dedicated volunteers, including Kiwanis members, friends and San Angelo ISD employees, are involved in organizing the annual event.  Admission is free and concessions will be available.

Bring your family to the Little Olympics for an afternoon of fun and entertainment, while supporting Kiwanis in their efforts to change the world, one child and one community at a time.
