Central gets back to its winning ways...Water Valley proves they are for real...Christoval and Mason continue to roll...

Last week at this time Central fans were scratching their heads and wondering what happened, as their Bobcats were coming off a dismal loss to lowly Amarillo Tascosa. This week, all is right again.  On Friday night, the Bobcats not only battled lightning delays, they were confronted with their biggest rivals Odessa Permian.  Although Permian is a little down this year, it had still been 15 years since Central had scored a win over the Mojo. So after waiting over 2 hours to start the game, the anticipation was electrifying. And after the first half of play, the game was basically over.  Central jumped Permian early and often, as they raced out to a 43-0 halftime lead.  Once again Mickey Scott was sensational, accounting for 363 total yards and 4 TDs. Scott is averaging 377 total yards and 5TDs per game this season. The second half was a formality, as the Bobcats took their foot off the gas, and mercifully let the Panthers leave town with their tails between their legs.  Central gets a week off this week, as they prepare to play Abilene Cooper and go for the rare sweep of Abilene schools.

The Water Valley Wildcats scored a huge win as well, as they traveled to Jayton to play the #1 DII school in Follett Panthers in the six-man game of the week. Follet jumped out to first half lead, but the Wildcats never stopped fighting and roared back in the second half.  The game was decided on a controversial inadvertent whistle as Water VAlley's field goal to win the game was blocked.  It looked like overtime was coming next, but a ref whistle stopped play with :01 left, and gave Water Valley another chance.  This time the Wildcats opted to by pass a field goal and go for the touchdown instead.  The move payed off as Tray Hannon pulled in the game winning grab.  The Wildcats go back to district play this week as they take on Veribest.

In other action, Christoval continued to push towards a playoff birth as they beat Bronte 37-15. The Cougars are now 6-1, with the only loss coming to San Angelo TLCA a few weeks back. The Mason Punchers also continued to roll through district play as they beat Ozona 40-18. The Punchers will look to continue their streak with a tough match up against 5-2 Junction this week.

Both #12 TLCA and #3 Wall both had the week off as they prepare to finish up district play and get prepared for the playoffs.
