On Friday, August 16, 2013, shortly after 7:00 a.m., San Angelo Police received a 911 call regarding suspicious subjects in the area of the Murphy’s Gas Station located at 618 W 29th St. in north San Angelo.
While en route to the location, police received information that the two subjects had now fled the area in a small red pickup truck.   A witness who was following them northbound on N. Bryant Blvd. was relaying the information to dispatch.

Upon arrival to Murphy’s Gas Station, police learned from witnesses and surveillance video recording that an Aggravated Robbery just occurred at the location.

Due to the fleeing suspects nearing the Grape Creek area, the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office was notified and deputies were dispatched to assist with locating the suspect’s vehicle.

The vehicle was eventually located at a residence in the 10700 block of Emmit Lane in Grape Creek, Texas.  During the field investigation, the two suspects were located at the residence along with several air guns and a mask and clothing that matched the description of the suspects.  The suspects were identified as juveniles.

Subsequent to the investigation, police learned several witnesses observed the two suspects in a nearby parking lot just prior to the incident.  One suspect stayed with the vehicle while the other approached the service attendant’s window with an unknown type of handgun, wearing a hoodie and a mask.  The suspect then pointed the handgun at the attendant while demanding money.  Police believe the suspect aborted the robbery after becoming aware of several witnesses who were at the location.  No one was injured during the incident.

The 14-year-old male juvenile was transported to the San Angelo’s Municipal Court where he appeared before a Judge prior to being booked into the Tom Green County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of Aggravated Robbery.  The second juvenile, a 14 year-old female, has not been charged.

There is no further information at this time.
