Joey + Rory released a new album of hymns on Feb. 19 — which they were determined to complete despite Joey’s cancer diagnosis — and it paid them back, earning the duo their first No. 1 record. Even amid celebrations of the accomplishment, Joey says this is not anything about what they have done, but about their faith.

Rory reveals that he congratulated his wife on the accomplishment, as he saw this release as hers from the beginning. But Joey didn't say a simple "thank you" — she responded much more graciously than most might have.

“This is one that she has always wanted to make, and she's worked so hard to make it happen, in spite of the difficult circumstances she is facing," Rory explains. "As I congratulated her, she responded through tears: 'No, honey, this is God's record.'"

The couple’s faith has been a through-line in their battle against Joey's cancer, which is not only evident in their This Life I Live blog, but on Hymns That Are Important to Us. The release debuted at No. 1 on both the country and contemporary Christian charts, as well as No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200 — a series of firsts for the married pair.

The Feeks recently celebrated their daughter Indiana’s second birthday, as well as their first Grammy nomination. Rory's older daughters attended the red carpet event on their behalf. Both milestones were goals Joey had sought to reach before she passes away. She is in hospice care, a result of her Stage 4 cancer.

Hymns That Are Important to Us has a deluxe version available exclusively at Cracker Barrel, with the regular version is available on iTunes.
