Hillside Drive has been fully reopened to vehicular and foot traffic following repairs to a storm drain culvert earlier this week.
Hillside is a City street adjacent to Lake Nasworthy that has also become a popular route for runners, walkers and joggers. The culvert is on the northeast corner of Hillside’s 2-mile loop. The construction forced the closure of a stretch of roadway leading to the culvert from both directions.

City crews next week will pave over the cut in the roadway that was necessitated by the culvert repairs. Following that, the pipe will be stabilized with concrete. Operations Department officials believe the work can be achieved without fully closing the street. If a closure becomes necessary, they said, that will be for only a short time.

Drivers and pedestrians are still advised to use caution, particularly if workers are present, until the construction is complete next week.
