Ron Perry of the Fort Concho Cavalry, one of the event’s chairmen, said the current muddiness of the Fort Concho Parade Grounds could endanger the safety of horses and their riders.

On Friday, the Military Horsemanship competition will be from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Combat Horsemanship events will follow from noon-3 p.m. The Pistol and Saber Competition will finish the day from 4 p.m. until dark.

On Saturday, the Jumping Competition will be from 8 a.m.-10 a.m., when the riders will gather on the Parade Ground for the Raising of the Colors and a formal Pass in Review Ceremony. The Saturday events will conclude with the Championship Cup Competition from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.

The Fiddler’s Green church service will be from 9 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Sunday in the fort's schoolhouse/chapel on East Avenue D.

Fort Concho Manager Bob Bluthardt noted the revised schedule will allow guests to watch events on Friday after school and work, and all day Saturday.

The event is free to all, with donations accepted at the Barracks 1 Visitor Center. Fort Concho is located at 630 S. Oakes St.
