Florida Georgia Line decided a new song from their upcoming Dig Your Roots album was too appropriate not to share early. In response to Thursday night’s (July 7) police officer shootings in Dallas, the duo have shared a preview of “Music Is Healing” over a photo of two unidentified police officers.

"This song has never rang more true. My heart is broken," Tyler Hubbard writes on his own Instagram. "Love is the answer and music is healing. Praying for this country.” The official Florida Georgia Line Instagram page also shared the song and statement.

Lyrics to “Music Is Healing” include “If I could write the perfect song / Make a little right out of all the wrong / Would you close your eyes / Would you let it in / Would you light your candle against the wind / “If I could sing the perfect words / And change the world, unhurt the hurt / That we’re all feeling, stop the bleeding / Get back to believing, love is the answer and music is healing.”

It’s another piano-based ballad for Hubbard and Brian Kelley. Their current hit song “H.O.L.Y.” is also a raw ballad driven mostly by piano. The love song is the first fans heard of Dig Your Roots, an album that also features collaborations with Tim McGraw, the Backstreet Boys and Ziggy Marley.

Hubbard and FGL appear to be referring to the killing of five police officers by snipers in Dallas. Seven other officers were also injured, as well as two civilians, according to CNN. The suspect is 25-year-old Micah Xavier Johnson. He was killed after a lengthy negotiation with police.
