Angelo State University’s Orchestra and Friends will host a day of music and food sponsored by the Fiddle Fire chuckwagon and catering business to benefit the ASU orchestra program on Sunday, Oct. 13, at Fiddle Fire, 1103 S. Oakes St.
Called “Fiddle Fire Fundraiser,” the event will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a variety of musical performers, as well as opportunities for patrons to purchase breakfast, brunch and barbecue lunch plates provided by Fiddle Fire.  The ASU Orchestra and Friends will perform at 1:30 p.m.  Other performers will include Fiddle Fire founder and violinist Dorothy Douthit, Jane Smith, the Concho Classics String Quartet, The Hammer Dulcimer Group and The Drs. Kelley.

Meanwhile, food will be dished up all day, starting with a “cowboy breakfast” of biscuits and gravy, eggs, ham and “all the fixins’” at 8 a.m., followed by brunch at 10 a.m.  From 11 a.m.-3 p.m., barbecue plates featuring brisket, ribs and chicken will be served.  To-go plates will also be available.  All meals will be $10 a plate, and proceeds will benefit the ASU orchestra program.
