At approximately 1:37 PM on July 8, 2015, Officer A. Rios attempted to stop a white 2000 GMC Sierra Pick-up for disregarding a stop sign at the intersection of Hill St and Irving St.

After making contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Conner Bowie, fled from the scene of the stop in his vehicle.  Officer Rios actively pursued Bowie in a marked patrol car, using lights and siren.  The pursuit continued for a short distance.  As Bowie was traveling West on Washington St., approaching the intersection of Washington and Koenigheim, another vehicle, operated by Kenneth Raymond, was waiting for the light and observed the activity approaching him.  Raymond attempted to move to the right of the roadway as required by law when emergency vehicles approach.  Bowie passed the two back vehicles on the right and crashed into Raymond’s vehicle. Officer Rios was able to make contact and arrest Conner before he could exit the vehicle.

Bowie told officers that he ran because he was on probation.  Bowie was arrested for Evading with a Motor Vehicle and transported to Tom Green County Jail. The case continues to be under investigation and additional charges may be filed.
