A 46-year-old San Angelo man is facing a felony charge after an elderly man was assaulted in the 300 block of south Irving.
On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at approximately 1:30 am San Angelo Police responded to Shannon Hospital for an individual in possession of a knife.   Upon arrival Officers noticed the man had blood on his person and did not appear to be injured.  Officers identified the man as, Kendall Griffin (10/29/67), of San Angelo.  During their initial investigation, Officers learned that an assault took place in the Bosque Park off Irving Street.

Officers quickly located the 73 year old victim still in the park.   Due to his injuries, the victim was taken to Shannon Hospital.  The circumstances surrounding the assault are still being investigated by the San Angelo Police Criminal Investigative Division.

Griffin was arrested for Injury to and Elderly Individual Causing Serious Bodily Injury and was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
