Visitors to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede attraction will be treated to a brand-new look and some exciting new features.

The popular dinner and entertainment attraction has just completed a $2.5 million update that includes new music and special effects, as well as interactive lighting that features 12.5 million LED bulbs.

The Dixie Stampede arena seats as many as 1,100 audience members, and features as many as five shows a day, Woody Peek, director of marketing for Dixie Stampede, tells Mashable.

"We've been entertaining guests for 28 years," he says. "This is the largest reinvestment ever back into the show."

The Dixie Stampede is located in Pigeon Gorge, Tenn., near Parton's Dollywood theme park and her Dollywood Splash Country, as well as Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. According to its website, the dinner attraction offers "friendly North and South competition, thrilling horse riding stunts, spectacular special effects, phenomenal musical productions plus a mouth-watering four-course feast complete with a delicious dessert!"

"Our audience is family-driven, and our younger audience is sometimes third or fourth generation," Peek says. "We have a lot of repeat visitors coming; people who may have seen the show 15 years ago are now bringing their kids with them."

That's why the primary elements of the show have remained intact, despite the extensive upgrades.

"Our connection with Dolly and Dolly's music, along with the equestrian theme, has been our mainstay," Peek adds. "That is not changing. Our show will still have the 32 [equestrian] stars of the show, and our riders will be performing."

The show debuted its new look on Feb. 13. The renovation coincided with Dollywood's 30th anniversary.

“I want to dazzle our guests in 2015 with a completely new atmosphere,” Parton says in a press release.
