HOUSTON (AP) — Houston police have asked for the public's help in locating three people after surveillance video shows a live dog being dumped into a trash bin.
Police on Thursday released video of last week's incident in the animal cruelty investigation. The pit bull mix was rescued and later adopted.

The video shows two male suspects running to the bin around 1 a.m. on Aug. 12, then a third young man heaves the dog into the container. Houston police say the suspects fled in an SUV.

The manager of a neighboring business arrived at work hours later and rescued the barking animal.

Police didn't immediately say who possibly owned the dog or if the animal was hurt. The dog was taken to a veterinarian and examined before being put up for adoption.
