Critical Need for all Negative Blood Types
United Blood Services has issued a critical appeal for all negative blood types.
Their supply on hand is less than one day on all negative blood types.Three days is considered adequate and levels at 33% of an adequate supply. The lives of patients in the 8 hospitals that we service are depending on donors knowing about this Critical -- Critical Need!
Must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health to donate. Donors between 16 and 22 must meet additional height and weight requirements. 16 year old donors must present a Minor Donor Permit Form signed by a parent or guardian. The Minor Donor Permit can be found online at www.unitedbloodservices.org.
Save time by completing the health history online on the same calendar day by going to www.unitedbloodservices.org , click on the health history questionnaire link on the left side of the page, read and answer all of the questions. Print the fast track ticket and bring it with you. You can also use your smartphone or tablet – just bring the device with you and let the techs scan the bar code.
