The forum will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive. The public is invited.

City officials will talk about the difference between the homeless population and panhandlers, and potential solutions for relocating the tent dwellers along the river under a Houston Harte Expressway overpass. That site belongs to the Texas Department of Transportation. The San Angelo Police Department lacks the authority to formally address the situation at this time.

The City of San Angelo is engaged with the Concho Valley Homeless Coalition to address the community’s homeless issue and assist homeless individuals who are seeking assistance. The coalition includes organizations such as the Salvation Army, MHMR and the Housing Authority of San Angelo.
