City offices will be closed Dec. 23-26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 2 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. There will be no interruption in garbage service during the holidays.

Among the City operations that will be closed: Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, the Animal Shelter, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court and the Nature Center. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will be closed Dec. 22-26 and Dec. 30-Jan. 2.

All City offices reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, and on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Fort Concho and its visitors center will be open with self-guided tours from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.  The fort will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1-2. Fort Concho, 630 S. Oakes St., will be fully open Jan. 3.

The Nature Center, 7409 Knickerbocker Road will host a New Year’s Eve slumber party for children ages 5-12 from 8 p.m. Dec. 31 to 8 a.m. Jan. 1. The youngsters will play games, make crafts, watch animal-themed movies, and interact with and learn about the Nature Center animals. Participants should bring a sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas and any other sleepover supplies. Two snacks and a light breakfast will be provided.

The cost is $25 for Nature Center members and $35 for non-members. All fees must be paid by Dec. 30. Registration is from noon-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at the Nature Center.

The Nature Center is also offering half-day camps from noon-5 p.m. Dec. 20-22 to allow parents to complete last-minute Christmas shopping and errands. The hourly cost per child is $2 for members and $3 for non-members.
