Christmas at Old Fort Concho is accepting art contest entries and are also looking for volunteers!
The Christmas at Old Fort Concho Art Contest is accepting entries from area sixth- through 12-graders through Nov. 17. First-place winners in each of three age categories will receive $100 and may see their works used to help publicity the event in the future.

Entry details and an entry form are available at fortconcho.com. All entries must be the original work of the student, have a Christmas theme and be on paper no smaller than 10 inches by 12 inches and no larger than 20 inches by 22 inches. Each piece of artwork must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, grade and title of piece. An entry form must be completed for each entry.

First-, second- and third-place prizes of $100, $50 and $25, respectively, will be awarded in three categories: sixth through eighth grades, ninth and 10th grades, 11th and 12th grades.

Entries may be delivered to the fort’s Visitors Center or Special Events Office, or mailed to Christmas at Old Fort Concho, Attn: Art Show, 630 S. Oakes St., San Angelo, TX 76903. For more information, call 325-657-4441.

Entries will be displayed during Christmas at Old Fort Concho, Dec. 5-7, in the Quartermaster Building. This year marks the 33rd edition of Christmas at Old Fort Concho, the largest event hosted by the fort each year.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CHRISTMAS AT OLD FORT CONCHO 2014 

For over thirty-two years, Christmas at Old Fort Concho has helped raise the funds necessary to continue the preservation and restoration of  Fort Concho.  We need LOTS of volunteers to make this event a success!  This year’s event will be held on Dec. 5, 6 & 7.

Volunteers are needed to work two-hour shifts in many areas throughout the weekend such as in ticket booths, coke booths and as door greeters.
