Chris Young and Cassadee Pope spent some quality time in their tour buses over the weekend as Winter Storm Jonas swept in, dumping heaps of snow across most of the east coast. The artists were on their way to the second and third dates on Young’s I’m Comin’ Over Tour when the weather got treacherous.

On Friday night (Jan. 22), the pair were meant to perform at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, but a state of emergency was declared in Pennsylvania — as well as a snow emergency in Philadelphia — caused their show to be postponed. The buses then went from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh in the hopes of still performing at the Stage AE the following night, but got stuck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Young’s bus reportedly made it to a truck stop before having to post up, but Pope was literally stuck on the highway for over 24 hours. She tweeted on Saturday night (Jan. 23) that they’d noticed cars being towed and driving off the opposite way, noting her thankfulness to be in a tour bus meant for overnight travel. Her Twitter timeline kept fans updated as she posted around the 27-hour mark that they were being told they would be able to make it out soon. Eight hours later, she announced they’d made it out, thanking the authorities for their help:

Both Pope and Young tried to enjoy the snow a little despite the circumstances, Pope with a snowball fight and Young making snow angels.

Pittsburgh's I’m Comin’ Over Tour stop has been rescheduled for March 11, with Philadelphia's makeup show on March 12. Fans with tickets for the original shows will not need to purchase new tickets for the rescheduled dates, but refunds will be provided for those who cannot make the new shows.

Unfortunately, Winter Storm Jonas prevented several country stars from making it to their shows over the last few days, including Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley and Lee Brice, who also postponed dates.

Pope performs on Young’s new record I’m Comin’ Over on an emotional duet titled “Think of You.” After Young decided to make the song a duet, it was a no brainer as to who he would chose to guest. He heard her in a writers’ round they played together and knew she was the right one.

“I love how she sings, I love how she sounds. I was really glad she wanted to do it,” Young says.

The I’m Comin’ Over Tour runs through the end of February.
