Chris Janson has accomplished every goal he had dreamed up when he moved to Nashville over 10 years ago with the success of his No. 1 single "Buy Me a Boat." So, the country singer is setting some new goals.

“I accomplished every goal I had when I moved here, this year. Every single one,” Janson told the Boot at a recent media event. “So in the next 10 years, I would like to just have a substantial career for the rest of my life, that I can go out and play music for people, and having hit songs definitely opens that door bigger and broader. I just would never want that to fizzle out. I always want to be able to do that.”

Janson's goals are not lofty. Among them include being a frequent performer at the Opry, and if he's fortunate enough to have more No. 1 songs, that'd be ideal, but it's not the ultimate career dream.

"Just having songs on the radio is a big enough deal for me," he explains. "And as a songwriter, I’ve heard a lot of people in the past b—hing about not having singles. I’m just proud to get a cut; I’m just glad to get in the game, have a publishing deal and be working in this town. It’s a rare thing these days, and I’m glad to be a part of it."

Janson was recently featured at Country Radio Seminar's New Faces showcase where he closed the show with an energetic performance as he thanked the radio industry for their support.

“I am so grateful to everybody. Thank you for giving me a shot and for giving me a job,” he said. “Thank you so much for giving me a career, country radio. Thank you for making my dreams come true.”
