Following the release of her sophomore album Stages, Cassadee Pope performed her latest single, "If My Heart Had A Heart," on TODAY Feb. 6.

Pope told the hosts a bit about the music before giving the audience her live show: "It's basically an album I've been writing over the last year and a half, and a lot has happened in my life. It just explains all of the stages I've been through."

Pope's delivery of the ballad was accompanied by a cellist and keyboard player that paired perfectly with her considerable vocal abilities. The live performance was held in the show's Live Lounge as a part of Citi's Concert Series.

Pope's album Stages features 11 tracks; including her current single and first two singles off the album, "Take You Home" and "One More Red Light." Pope solicited previous collaborator Corey Crowder to help create the album with a mix of co-written songs and songs sent to Pope to create the storyline of her past year.

"It's a validating feeling to look back at a painful moment, and see how I was able to put the pieces back together and come back stronger," Pope reveals. "For the first time in my life, I’m confident in the way I navigate things thrown my way, and I hope someone listening finds the same strength."

Pope kicked off her touring year with a performance at the legendary Grand Ole Opry on Feb. 9. Now, she'll be hitting the road on Maren Morris' Girl: The World Tour along with RaeLynn at select dates. Then Pope will be back on the road for her headling CMT Next Women of Country Tour with support from Clare Dunn and Hannah Ellis. Tickets are currently on sale for both tours.
