Blake Shelton and Jimmy Fallon are an odd pairing that always makes for great comedy, as fans saw once again during Shelton's Tonight Show appearance on Monday night (Oct. 10).

Shelton's easygoing charm and good sense of humor have made him a frequent guest of Fallon's, and they often play on the dichotomy of a city boy and country boy not understanding each other's way of doing things. They took that to a whole new level on Monday night in a pre-taped skit in which Shelton attempted to teach Fallon how to milk a cow.

It was a little bit of payback for Shelton, who tried sushi for the first time during his last appearance on the show at Fallon's insistence. "I'm still having nightmares about that," Shelton says in the clip above, gleefully rubbing his hands together at the thought of being able to get revenge.

He leads Fallon — who is clad in an absurd-looking pair of overalls and cowboy hat that look like something out of Hee Haw — over to Oreo, a black-and-white cow, commenting, "You dressed very disrespectful. You look like Howdy Doody right now." Trying (and failing) to keep a straight face, he adds, "Do you think this is a game? This is serious."

What transpires is hilarious, as Shelton tries to give the hapless Fallon instructions on the proper techniques involved, earning a big laugh when he demonstrates the difference between a "squeeze-push" and a stroke. In the end Fallon finally gets a little milk from Oreo, and he and Shelton raise a toast after Shelton convinces him that drinking a shot of your first milking is an old farmer's tradition — but while Fallon chugs the warm milk down and makes a face, Shelton throws his shot over his shoulder.
