Birthdays For October 6th + It’s National Child Health Day

If you are celebrating an anniversary today, congratulations but you are not by yourself.  On this date in 1996, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are married in Rayville, Louisiana.  The same day as as his Swampstock benefit concert.  The wedding guests included:  Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Collie and Jeff Carson.  Happy 18th anniversary to Faith and Tim.   It's National Child Health Day!

This day was first celebrated in 1928, when President Calvin Coolidge issued a Child Health Day Proclamation while a resolution was still pending in the U.S. Congress.  This was in response to a plea from both the American Federation of Labor and the General Federation of Women's Clubs to do so.  Since then, each year under a joint Resolution of Congress, the President of the United States has proclaimed Child Health Day.  It started out being celebrated on May 1st of each year until 1960, when it was changed to the first Monday in October of each year.

This day hopefully, will help us all to remember the need to ensure that all children in America stay healthy.
