Birthdays For November 3rd + National Housewife’s Day

If this is your date to celebrate, congratulations.  On this date, in 1960, Merle Haggard is released from San Quentin Prison, in California and allowed to complete the more than two years remaining of his sentence on parole.  Years later he would receive a full pardon from Ronald Reagan, who at the time was Governor of California.   It's National Housewife's Day!

This day was created to recognize the importance of stay at home moms and wives.  Their job is a 24/7 one of taking care of the children and the home.  Most of the time they never get the "thank you", that is much deserved.

The term "housewife" is an old one going back to the days when nearly every family was supported by only one income.  You know the story, Dad worked and Mom stayed at home and took care of the house and the kids.  Times have changed!  Today, in most cases, two incomes are needed to support the family.  If Mom is able to stay at home, the term "stay at home mom", or "domestic engineer", is preferred over the term "housewife".

Today we salute and say a BIG "Thank You", to all Housewives.
