This special day originated in Sweden, where they celebrate the feast of the Annunciation and the start of spring by making waffles all day long.

Today, you can enjoy them for breakfast, or as a snack, or as the evening dinner meal.

Waffles are nothing new, in fact, they go back to the 1300s in Greece. In those days, they were topped with cheese and herbs, because pancake syrup hadn't been invented yet.
