If this is your birthday, congratulations! Here's a country music artist famous for his rendition of gospel songs that was also born on this date. Red Foley, born in Blue Lick, Kentucky. Following his sentimental hit about his dog, "Old Shep," he becomes a major figure on the Grand Ole Opry in the 1940s and '50s. He also hosted the network televised Ozark Jubilee from Springfield, Missouri in the mid-50s.  He entered the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1967.

This special day falls right in the middle of National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, and provides the perfect opportunity to re-introduce a healthy portion of vegetables into your diet. No doubt about it, Eat Your Vegetables Day was created to promote a more healthy diet.......for life!

Today, everyone is encouraged to eat vegetables for every meal, and for a snack.

Note to parents: Why not let the kids help with dinner tonight by preparing the salad and vegetables. Explain to them the importance of vegetables for a long and healthy life.

Now Let's P-A-R-T-Y!
