Birthdays For February 24th + Tortilla Chip Day

If this is your birthday, congratulations!  You are sharing this date with, Sammy Kershaw  born in Kaplan, Louisiana, in 1958.  A vocal style similar to George Jones brings him into prominence during the 1990s behind such hits as "Cadillac Style," "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" and "National Working Woman's Holiday".  Happy 57th, Sammy! 

It's National Tortilla Chip Day!!

Yeah!  This is the day set aside for crunching the snack loved by millions across this great land.  Tortilla chips are most commonly served up with salsa, chile con queso, guacamole, cheese dips or other dips.

These chips are made from corn tortillas cut into wedges and then fried.  Usually they are made with yellow corn however, they can also be made with white, blue or red corn as well.

Tortilla chips have long been considered a Mexican food, known as tostados, but they were first mass-produced in Los Angeles in the late 1940s.

Today be sure to grab a hand full and celebrate!
