Congratulations if this is your birthday!  You share the same date as country music star, Moe Bandy born in Meridian, Mississippi, in 1944. He gains success as a honky-tonk singer during the late-1970s and early-'80s with a string of hits dominated by cheatin'-themed singles and good-ol'-boy duets with Joe Stampley. Happy 71st, Moe. 

It's Abraham Lincoln's Birthday!!

Yes, this is the actual birth date of "Honest Abe".  Our 16th President of the United States, was born in the wilderness country of Hardin County, Kentucky on this date in 1809.

He became president in 1861.  In addition to serving in that capacity during the civil war and saving the Union, he wrote the Emancipation Proclamation that ended slavery in the U.S. forever.  He is also most famous for writing and delivering The Gettysburg Address, memorializing the bloodiest and most important battle of the Civil War, as that proved to be the turning point in the war.

Take time out today to remember one of the most important Americans ever.
