Birthdays For December 3rd + National Roof Over Your Head Day
Is it your birthday? If so, congratulations. You share the same date as Country Music Hall of Fame Member, Ferlin Husky. He was born in 1927 in Flat River, Missouri. His recording of "Gone", in 1956 establishes what would later be referred to as "The Nashville Sound". He also had a landmark hit with the gospel-themed, "Wings Of A Dove", in 1960. It's National Roof Over Your Head Day!
This day was created as a day to be thankful for what you have. Starting out with that roof over your head. Many things we have, we take for granted. This is a good day to stop and appreciate how fortunate we really are for having them.
All across this great nation, there are many others that do not have even a roof over their heads. They live on the streets, in cardboard boxes or in alleys.
Why not take a few minutes today and be thankful for your roof and home. You also might want to make a contribution to a homeless shelter, so others can come in out of the weather. After all, this time of the year it can get cold here in the Concho.
Now Let's P-A-R-T-Y!!
