1941- Grand Ole Opry star and Country Music Hall of Fame member, Connie Smith is born in Elkhart, Indiana.  Her debut single, "Once A Day", would go #1, in 1964. In 1997, she marries another Opry star, Marty Stuart.

1964-  Roy Rogers, undergoes a nine-hour back surgery to repair vertebrae damaged by years of riding his horse, Trigger.

1982- Ernest Tubb, plays the Grand Ole Opry for the final time.

1995- "The Hits" album, by Garth Brooks, becomes the first best-of collection by a country-based artist to be certified for shipments of 7 million units.

2007- Luke Bryan's debut album, "I'll Stay Me", is released on Capitol Records.

Marshall Serrano, 13.  From Mom, Dad and sister, Maddie.  Marshall wins our birthday cake today from Halfmann's Cake Cottage.
