1925- Hank Thompson is born in Waco, Texas.  One of the leading acts in  the 1950s and 60s.  His music was a mix of Western Swing and honky-tonk.  His best known song was, "The Wild Side Of Life."  He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame, in 1989.

1961- Loretta Lynn signs a recording contract with Decca Records.

1988- Rodney Crowell has the #1 single in Billboard magazine with "I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried".

1996- Deana Carter's debut Capitol album, "Did I Shave My Legs For This?", is released.

2005- "Mississippi Girl", by Faith Hill, occupies the #1 spot on Billboard's country chart.

2009- Carrie Underwood's, "Cowboy Casanova", is released to radio by Arista Records.

2013- His recording of, "It Goes Like This", earns Thomas Rhett a gold single.
