If this is your birthday, congratulations.  You share this date with Ricky Lee Phelps, born in 1953, in Paragould, Arkansas.  Ricky Lee became the lead singer of The Kentucky HeadHunters, who were twice named Vocal Group of the Year by the Country Music Association, in 1989 and 1990.  He left the band along with his brother, Doug in 1992, to form the duo, Brother Phelps.  Today he turns 61.  

1957 - Jerry Lee Lewis, records one of his biggest hits, "Great Balls Of Fire", at the Sun Studio in Memphis.

1984 - At the 18th annual Country Music Association awards, Anne Murray is a double winner.  She becomes the first woman ever to win Album of the Year, for "A Little Good News", and the title track picks up Single of the Year honors.

1994 - Toby Keith is at #1 on the Billboard chart with, "Who's That Man".

2004 - Keith Urban kicks off his first headlining tour, at Emens Auditorium in Muncie, Indiana.

2011 - Rascal Flatts joins the Grand Ole Opry and that same night, Ronnie Dunn makes his first solo appearance at the Opry.
