If it's your birthday today, congratulations!  You share this date with, Charlie Daniels born in 1936, in Wilmington, North Carolina.  Early on, he was a leading figure in the Southern rock movement but with the recording of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia", he gained a foothold in mainstream country music.  He's also been a member of the Grand Ole Opry, since 2008.  Happy 78th, Charlie.    It's National American Beer Day!

Beer Facts:

In the United States, there are more than 2,100 breweries that manufacture beer.  They range in size from those industry giants to brew pubs and microbreweries.

In 2009, the U.S. produced 196 million barrels of beer.

On average, the U.S. consumes about 20 US gallons of beer per capita annually.

The most common style of beer produced by the giant breweries is American lager.

Be sure to celebrate today by enjoying you favorite American beer and remember to please drink responsibly.
