If it's your birthday today, congratulations.  You share this date with the late, Owen Bradley.  Born in 1915, in Westmoreland, Tennessee, Owen built the first recording studio in Nashville, on what would become to be known as "Music Row".  He was the head of Decca Records in Music City for years and produced hit recordings by Patsy Cline, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Brenda Lee and many others.  He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1974.  It's National Reptile Awareness Day!

This day is not only a for reptile lovers to celebrate but a day to promote education, conservation and appreciation of reptiles.  It's also a day to learn about their natural habitats and the ecological threats that they are now facing.

Just in case you didn't know:  A reptile is any amniote that is neither mammal or a bird.  A reptile is cold blooded, has scales or scutes and can lay eggs on land.

What's a scute?  That's a bony external plate or scale, like the shell of a turtle or the skin of crocodilians, just in case you were wondering.

Hopefully, this will help you to have a better understanding of reptiles and what this day is all about.

Now Let's P-A-R-T-Y!!!
