It's Finally Friday!  If this is your birthday, congratulations.  You share the same date as country music's Jean Shepard.  Jean was born in 1933, in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma. Her early hit duet "A Dear John Letter," sung with Ferlin Husky, was the first post-World War II country record by a woman to sell a million copies.  In 2005, she became the first female singer to reach the 50-year milestone as a Grand Ole Opry member and she still performs often as an Opry regular.  She is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Happy 81st, Jean.  It's National Stuffing Day!!

With Thanksgiving less than a week away, what a great time to celebrate Stuffing.  After all, what's a Thanksgiving turkey with out the stuffing?

Most turkey stuffing is made up of bread cubes or crumbs, along with onions, celery, salt and pepper and other spices and herbs like sage or poultry seasoning.  Some other varieties include the addition of sausage, hamburger, oysters, eggs, rice, apple, raisins and other dried fruits.

Stuffing recipes are far from new, in fact they can be found in the ancient Roman cookbook, Apicius "De Re Coquinaria".

Just some information for you to ponder as we celebrate National Stuffing Day!!

Now Let's P-A-R-T-Y!!
