You just happen to share this date with a fellow Texan and one of the greatest songwriters ever in country music.  Kris Kristofferson, born in Brownsville, Texas, in 1936. He records the 1973 hit "Why Me," becomes a member of The Highwaymen with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, appears in numerous movies and writes such classics as "Help Me Make It Through The Night", "Me And Bobby McGee",  and "For The Good Times," landing in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
