Birthdays And Anniversaries For January 16th + It’s Nothing Day

Is it your birthday today?  If so, you are celebrating with one of the "living legends" of country music.  Ronnie Milsap, born in Robbinsville, North Carolina, in 1943. This blind keyboard player emerges as one of country's most innovative performers, offsetting traditional fare with pop crossovers, winning six Grammy awards and the CMA's Entertainer of the Year  in 1977.  He was also awarded membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014.  Happy 72nd, Ronnie!   

It's National Nothing Day!!

This day was proposed in 1972 by columnist Harold Pullman Coffin.  It has been observed annually since 1973.  It is set aside as a day to provide Americans with one day not to celebrate, observe, or honor anything.  By the way, this day is sponsored by Coffin's National Nothing Foundation, registered in Capitola, California.

The expectation is that we do not promote this day.  In other words, we do nothing.  To say anything more would contradict the purpose of it.

Feel free to go about this day doing nothing.  Assuming, that's o.k. with your boss.  Yeah, good luck with that!
