Birthdays And Anniversaries For December 2nd + National Fritters Day

If you are turning a year older today, congratulations.  You are celebrating along with songwriter, Casey Beathard.  Casey was born 1965, in Torrance, California.  Some of his best known songs as a writer include:  "Don't Blink" for Kenny Chesney, "Come Back Song" for Darius Rucker, "Home Boy" for Eric Church and "The Breath You Take" for George Strait.  Happy 49th, Casey!!  It's National Fritters Day!!

What is a fritter you ask?  A fritter is a fried cake or dough with fruit, meat or vegetables inside.  They can be deep fried or pan fried.

Fritters are believed to have been first consumed by the Ancient Romans, who later introduced them to Europe.

Some of the more common fillings inside a fritter would be various meats, seafood, fruit, cheese or vegetables.  Here in the United States, "Corn Fritters", "Apple Fritters" and "Zucchini Fritters" are well known favorites.

How about trying one on this special day.  You might just like them.
