1938-Singing cowboy Roy Rogers makes his debut as a leading man with the release of "Under Western Stars." Accompanied by Smiley Burnette and his horse, Trigger, Rogers plays a congressman for a drought-stricken state.

1977-The Glen Campbell hit "Southern Nights" goes gold.

1987-The appropriately named Eddie "Rabbitt" performs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on the White House lawn in Washington, D.C.

2008-Hank Williams, Steve Wariner and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band are added to the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville, along with jazz musician Kirk Whalum, Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman and "Ring Of Fire" songwriter Merle Kilgore.
